Resources for Distance Learning During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Educational Continuity
We are excited to announce our new Virtual Field Trip! We have 2 exciting options available.
1. DOWNLOADABLE SELF-GUIDED VIRTUAL TOUR
We will continue to offer our downloadable Virtual Tour in Powerpoint format. The content has recently been updated with new information and graphics. Please click here to download the self-guided Virtual Tour.
2. LIVE VIRTUAL TOURS
We have a brand NEW live, interactive Virtual Tour hosted by the same entertaining tour guides who host our live guided in person tours.
The Constitutional Walking Tour's Virtual Field Trip is a great way to experience Historic Philadelphia. In light of what educational institutions are doing around the world, The Constitutional has developed updated distance learning Virtual Tours hosted by the same entertaining tour guides who host our live guided in-person tours.
The Constitutional's live guided Virtual Tours are part of our contingency plans to provide unique educational experiences, even if in-person outdoor walking tours of Historic Philadelphia may be interrupted due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Similar to how many schools are offering virtual instruction, we are offering Virtual Field Trip instruction, tours and activities in order to ensure learning continuity and complement educators' efforts to do the same.
Using the Zoom platform, The Constitutional can provide Virtual Tours to students learning together in a classroom or assembly room, or to students individually joining an online tour meeting at the same from their homes, but participating as a group. To download and preview what the Virtual Tour looks like, click here.
If you are a customer who had a field trip planned for the Fall 2020 season, please contact us to arrange a live Virtual Tour. New customers, please contact us at 215.525.1776 or info@theconstitutional.com for pricing.
Synchronous Learning
Synchronous learning means that The Constitutional's tour guide, along with the school's teacher(s) and students will be experiencing Historic Philadelphia together at the same time. Synchronous learning enables students to ask questions and receive answers straight away. Learners can also collaborate freely with other learners. Synchronous connections provide good time for faculty and students to review material, introduce new work, ensure they are on the same page and build connections.
Keeping the Lights On
While we recognize that The Constitutional's Virtual Tour is not the same as being there in person, it is at least something we can offer this year as far as distance learning that is comparable to many other distance learning programs that schools and colleges have recently started offering. Additionally, by offering the Virtual Tours hosted by live tour guides, we are able to provide some work to our staff to offset the unplanned downtime.
