Arch Street Friends Meeting House’s Giant Community Chalkboards
Ben Franklin famously said, “The noblest question in the world is: What good may I do in it?”
Along those lines, Arch Street Friends Meeting House has been asking locals and visitors alike to interact with its street art display and answer the question - “How will you change the world?”
Outside along the red brick wall that surrounds the Meeting House on Arch Street between 3rd and 4th Streets, there are two very large blackboards with chalk that include very colorful messages such as “cherish everyday”, “recycle”, “smile” and some political messages too.
How to Get There
Arch Street Friends Meeting House is conveniently located on Arch Street between 3rd and 4th Streets. For guests of The Constitutional Walking Tour, the walk to Arch Street Friends Meeting House is a fairly easy one since it is just one and half blocks away from the National Constitution Center Starting where all of our tours begin and end. From the Constitution Center, just head East on Arch Street and cross 4th Street. Arch Street Friends Meeting House is on the South side of Arch (look for the larger red brick wall).
Insider Info
Go back regularly to see the changing chalk messages after the chalkboards are cleaned and updated from time to time.
