The Thomas Bond House is one of the true gems of Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia.
In 1769, when Dr. Thomas Bond built this house and rented it to his son and namesake, the elder Bond was already a prominent Philadelphia physician and civic leader. Along with Benjamin Franklin, Bond helped found Pennsylvania Hospital (America's First Hospital) and the American Philosphical Society. Restored on the exterior to its 19th Century appearance, this house now serves as a bed and breakfast inn.
The four story house is historically significant as an enduring example of the classical revival Georgian style architecture.
For a very authentic visitor experience to Historic Philadelphia, you can book a room at this very cool Bed & Breakfast.
How to Get There
The Thomas Bond House is conveniently located at 2nd & Sansom Streets. For guests of The Constitutional Walking Tour, the Thomas Bond House is just a short 5 block walk from the National Constitution Center where The Constitutional's tours begin and end.
