In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the United States Tennis Association's National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) program, Chris Evert, former World #1 player, hosted the Philadelphia Freedoms' Pop-Up Tennis Tour at the Independence Visitor Center on May 21, 2019.
One of the USTA Foundation's signature programs has been supporting NJTL programs across America, and what better way to celebrate NJTL's 50th Anniversary than doing so in America's Birthplace!
After a morning tour of Independence Hall (America's Birthplace), Evert hosted some future stars from various NJTL chapters including Legacy Youth Tennis and Education, Down the Line & Beyond, and Rodney Street Tennis & Tutoring.
During her professional career, Evert won a total 18 Grand Slam singles championships and three doubles titles. She was the year-ending World No. 1 singles player in 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, and 1981. Overall, Evert won a total of 157 singles championships and 32 doubles titles.

The Constitutional Walking Tour provides guided tours of the Independence National Historical Park area, including more than 20 of the most popular sites such as Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and the Betsy Ross House.
